Agile EPIC Template
An Epic in agile software development is a large body of work that can be broken down into smaller features and then into stories. It’s essential to provide enough detail in an Epic to give your development team clarity about the objective and requirements, but not so much that it becomes overly prescriptive or unwieldy.
An EPIC is generally a larger piece of work that gets done over a period of a quarter or two. EPIC has multiple features that define the individual capabilities that need to be developed.
It is important for the Agile squad to capture the EPIC details in a consistent manner and make sure all angles of the EPIC are considered before starting the development work.
Below is an example of an Agile EPIC Template that can be used to capture the details of everything that needs to be captured in Agile EPICs.
You can use the ‘Click to Copy’ at the bottom of the template and just copy and paste the information in the EPIC tickets in JIRA, Rally, or any other tool you prefer.

You can use this template to capture the most important elements of an EPIC. A few of the sections may be irrelevant to your work. You can just mark them as not applicable.
